The Madison Metropolitan School District invites families of incoming kindergartners to submit applications for the Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program for the 2014-15 school year and to attend informational sessions about the program. Lottery applications are due by Friday, May 2nd.

In the immersion program, native Spanish speakers and native English speakers develop their first language while also acquiring fluency and literacy skills in a second language. DLI offers academic instruction in both Spanish and English with the goal of academic and cultural literacy in both languages for every student.

The district will hold several informational sessions (see below). Families can learn more about the immersion program by watching the district’s DLI Informational Video and fill out the lottery application online .

The DLI program is open to all MMSD students; however, it is only available at the schools below. More information and applications for the program are available at Kindergarten seats are limited and completing an application does not guarantee admission to the program. Applications are due Friday, May 2nd. Students living outside of the attendance area of these schools may apply; however, students living within each attendance area are given preference.  Preference is also given to siblings of students already enrolled.
