The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) will hold registration for four and five-year-old kindergarten on Monday, February 3 from 1:00 to 6:00p.m. at district elementary schools.
To save time, parents or guardians are encouraged to pre-register online at mmsd.org/enroll, complete and print the verification form and bring that form with them to registration.They will also be required to show proof of age for their student (birth certificate or medical assistance card) and proof of residency (utility bill, lease or mortgage). Children are welcome to accompany parents to registration, but they are not required to attend.
Four-year-old kindergarten (4K) for the 2014-15 school year is open to all children who live within the district and will be four years old on or before September 1, 2014. Students outside of MMSD may also open enroll into the district to participate in the program.
The half day 4K program is held at 57 MMSD elementary schools and early care and education centers. The program is offered free of charge for families who live within the MMSD or open enroll into the district for the program.
Unlike five-year-old kindergarten, which is based on attendance areas, parents or guardians may register their student for 4K at any available site. For more information, visit mmsd.org/4K.
Five-year-old kindergarten for the 2014-15 school year is open to all children who live within the district and will be five years old on or before September 1, 2014.
Five-year-old kindergarten registration is only for families who have a child who has not been in an MMSD 4K program, early childhood special education program or an early learning session. Families whose children currently attend one of those programs do not need to register again and will only need to attend the enrollment date at their child’s school in August.
