Join us Nov. 7 for a community session on our Strategic Framework

We have started the important work of building our next Strategic Framework and we need your ideas! Join us Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the East High School library (2222 E. Washington Ave., Madison) for a community listening session. The Strategic Framework serves as a roadmap for us as we work to get dramatically closer to our vision of every child graduating ready for college, career and community.

We invite you to give your ideas and provide feedback on what we’ve done so far. Help us chart the next phase of our framework. If you need childcare, transportation or interpretation services, please email

Can’t make it Nov. 7? We’ll host another session on Tuesday, Dec.19 at Memorial High School.

Personalized Pathways recognized as one of four health innovators to watch

Personalized Pathways is only in its first year but it’s already making popular lists. Madison Magazine included pathways on its list of health innovators to watch. Read what the magazine had to say about Personalized Pathways.

Look for your child’s report card in January

Report cards will be released in late January. Last year was the first year for our new elementary report cards. K-5 teachers reported on students’ progress toward grade-level expectations that students should meet by the end of the school year.

Visit to find resources to help you and your child understand what the report cards mean and measure. View a sample report card for each grade level, watch videos and  download general resources, including reference materials you can use to guide the conversation at your next parent-teacher conference.

Parent-teacher conferences coming soon

Parent-teacher conferences are right around the corner and teachers are excited to share student work and strengthen partnerships with families. Did you know that being involved in your child's education can lead to greater student success in school? Research shows when families are involved in their children's learning both at home and at school, children perform better academically.

The Parent Toolkit offers more ideas for things you can do before, during and after your conference to make that time as constructive as possible.
